Nerdy Summer >> Cambridge

Hola! Que tal estáis? Yo estoy en Cambridge, este año he cambiado el plan habitual de turismo o relax en la playa por un veranito de clases, libros, conferencias... si, soy un poco rarita, lo sé. Pero estas dos semanas de Universidad de Verano han estado muy bien, y el college en el que me he quedado, Selwyn, es precioso! Hoy es el último día, y prácticamente el único que ha hecho sol, así que hemos hecho un picnic de despedida y de paso he pedido que me saquen unas fotos, pero sin ponerme exigente ni dar mucha guerra, que mis compis de clase no tienen la culpa de que yo tenga un blog! 

Hi!How have you been? I spent these last two weeks at Cambridge, this summer I decided to change sunbathing and touristy stuff for books, lectures and studying... yes, I'm weird, I know. But I had two great weeks at Summer School, I especially liked my course on Jane Austen, I'm addicted to her books now! So today was my last day here, and it was the only sunny day for the whole two weeks, we had a picnic on the college gardens.I was staying at Selwyn college, such a beautiful place! I asked a friend to take some pictures of me, but I didn't want to bore her to death taking a million pictures, it's not her fault that I have this strange hobby of blogging!!

Bilbao era una ciudad industrial a principios del siglo XX, los Altos Hornos y otras fábricas de la industria siderúrgica habían tomado las márgenes del Nervión. A mediados de la década de los 70 la crisis en este sector golpeó con fuerza y muchas fábricas tuvieron que cesar su actividad. Muchos han sido los cambios en Bilbao en los últimos años; hoy en día a penas quedan restos de su pasado industrial. Pero aún quedan fábricas a lo largo del Nervión, no sé si todas están en funcionamiento o no. Por aquí salí a pasear hace poco y ahora esperaba que ahora me acompañaseis vosotros.

Bilbao was a busy industrial city during the first part of the 20th century, with many active factories, mostly involved in the iron and steel industry. During the mid 70s there was a deep crisis in this sector and many factories closed down. Bilbao had to move forward, and it has changed very much over the last forty years, until today, when most of the signs of it's industrial past have been erased. Although the steel production is no longer the main industrial activity, some factories still remain, still on the banks of the river Nervión. And here is where I took a walk recently, I was hoping you would join me.

Forever ago.

Hoy es el aniversario de mi blog. Hace un año publiqué mi primer post, todavía me acuerdo de la ilusión que tenía por empezar, todas las ideas que se me ocurrían para mis looks, las fotos que quería hacer, los sitios que quería mostrar. También me acuerdo de las dudas, ¿quién leería mi blog?, ¿gustaría a alguien? ¿cómo sería mi blog al cabo de un año? Hoy, un año después, tengo mi respuesta.


Ha pasado un año también desde que me sacaron estas fotos. Representan muy bien esos primeros momentos y me ha parecido buena idea compartirlas hoy. Mucho ha cambiado desde entonces, pero mantengo la ilusión del principio y sigo buscando la forma de comunicarme en este blog. He estado revisando mis entradas antiguas y puedo decir que me gusta lo que he visto. Ha sido como leer un diario, sólo con mirar las fotos puedo volver al momento en el que fueron tomadas y observar mis sentimientos. He visto mis días alegres, momentos de tristeza, frustración o desconsuelo. Un año entero ha pasado y de nuevo me pregunto, ¿ Cómo será mi blog dentro de un año?


Today is my blog anniversary. A year ago I posted here for the first time, I can still remember my excitement, all things I wanted to write about, the outfits I wanted to style, the places I wanted to show. I can also remember the doubts I had, who would read my blog?, would anyone like it?, what would it look like after a year? Today, a year later, I get my answer.

One year has gone by since these pictures were taken. They are a good representation of what those first moments were like and I thought it appropriate to share them today. A lot has changed since those days, but I am as motivated as the first day and still looking for a way to communicate in this blog. I have been looking through my old posts and I have to say that I like what I have seen. It has been like reading a diary, just by looking at the photos I can return to the moment they were taken and observe my feelings. I have seen my happy days, my moments of sadness, frustration or despair. A whole year has passed and again I ask myself, What will my blog look like in a year?

Hola Agosto! Nuevo mes, nuevas fotos y nueva motivación para escribir en mi blog con más frecuencia! Aunque ya empiezo con trampas, porque estas fotos nuevas,lo que se dice nuevas no son, me las hicieron el fin de semana pasado, cuando estuve en Santander. Pero en mi defensa diré que por fin ha llegado el verano al Norte y este outfit es justo eso, muy veraniego. Yo creo que es perfecto para salir a dar un paseo después de un largo día en la playa. Y creerme cuando os digo que sé de lo que hablo, porque buena parte de mis veranos hasta que empecé la uni los pasaba en un pueblo de la costa. 
Espero que hayáis disfrutado de un fin de semana de sol, ¡Yo, por fin, si!

Hello August! New month, new outfit pictures and new motivation to post more regularly on my blog! Well I'm not being very honest,  these pictures are from last weekend so they aren't exactly new, but in my defense I must say that they are very summery. This is the perfect simple outfit for an afternoon walk after having spent a long day at the beach. And believe me, I am an expert in such outfits because until I started college I used to spend a big part of my summer at a small town at the seaside.
I hope you all had a great weekend and could enjoy the sun! I did!
