Natale >> Milan & Lugano

Feliz año nuevo!!! Qué tal pasasteis la nochevieja? Os deseo lo mejor para este 2011. Estas fotos son de mis vacaciones de navidad, he estado muy liada últimamente, siento el retraso. Si ya habíais visto mi post  Ci vediamo alla Scala! reconoceréis el outfit, es el que presenté al concurso de Chictopia, era un look inspirado en Milán. Aquí está el resultado final, lo que me puse la noche del 24 para el Concierto de Navidad en la ópera.

These photos are from my Christmas holidays which I spent in Milan and Lugano. I'm a little late on posting them , it's been pretty hectic lately, so I'm sorry about the delay. If you read my post Ci vediamo alla Scala! you will recognize the outfit, I submitted it to a Chictopia contest, I was recreating a look inspired by the city of Milan. Now this is the end result, what I wore the night of the 24th for the Christmas Concert at the opera. 

Ui! ¡Que arrugado tengo el vestido! No tengo más fotos de Milán para compartir, no paró de llover en los tres días que estuve allí. Aún así me gustó mucho a ciudad, espero volver a visitarla algún día, eso sí, si puede ser en meses de más calor, ¡mejor! Paso a las fotos de Lugano.

Ooops! My dress is a little creased! I have no other pictures to share from Milan, it was raining non stop for the three days I was there, I was still very impressed by the city, which I hope to visit someday during the warmer months! So now on to Lugano.

Lugano es un lugar precioso, desde la habitación del hotel podía ver el lago, ¡era como un sueño! Los días que estuve allí fueron muy tranquilos, pasé bastante rato en el hotel, al calor, leyendo y disfrutando de las vistas. Pero también bajé a pasear por la ciudad y su parque, di una vuelta al lago en ferry, y sin duda la mejor tarde la pasé dando un paseo por Castagnola, donde estaba el hotel. Cerca había un bosque, tomé un sendero y acabé en el lago de Muzzano. El sol había salido ese día y las zonas congeladas del lago se rompían en placas, el sonido era fascinante, como si un trozo de cristal se rompiese en millones de pedacitos.

Lugano is such a beautiful place, from the hotel room I could see the lake, it was like a dream! I spent a few very calm days mostly staying at the hotel reading and keeping warm while enjoying the views. But I also went for a walk around the city and it's park, I took ferry tour of the lake and the best afternoon was definitely the one I spent wandering off on my own around the area of Castagnola, where my hotel was, I walked around a small forest and found the lake of Muzzano. The sun was out this day and the lake was melting and the ice was breaking into plaques, the sound was fascinating, it was like hearing glass break into a million small pieces.

Hola hola! Qué tal las navidades? Espero que las hayáis disfrutado. Yo he vuelto de mis vacaciones, he pasado unos pocos días en Milán y Lugano, es una tradición familiar hacer una escapada en esta época del año, supongo que es algo distinto de la forma en que se celebran las navidades, todo el mundo vuelve a casa y se reúne, pero como se suele decir, ¡cada familia es un mundo!
Estas fotos son de hace unos días, del fin de semana anterior a la semana de navidad. La pasé en Francia, fui a esquiar a Andorra, hacía mucho que no iba y me lo pasé muy bien, tengo unas ganas locas de volver!! Otras actividades del fin de semana incluyeron cocinar quiche, pasear por los pueblos de los Pirineos y entrar en calor al lado de la chimenea ... ¡la buena vida! 

Hello people! How was Christmas? I hope you all enjoyed it very much. I am back from my holidays, I spent a few days in Milan and Lugano, it's a family tradition to travel this time of the year, I guess it's different from the way most people celebrate these holidays, but as the saying in spanish goes, each family is a whole world. (I hope the translation is right and I'm not too sure wether it exists in english already... if I'm wrong, sorry!)
These photos are from a few days ago, from the weekend before christmas. I spent it in France, I went to Andorra to ski, it was a long time since I had last gone and it was so much fun I can't wait to go back! Other weekend activities also included baking quiche, walks in small villages of the Pyrenees and warming up next to the chimney!

También dediqué un rato a hace fotos de "outfit" quería aprovechar que había nieve en los Pirineos y llevar un look divertido, con muchas capas. Así que salí a buscar el paisaje perfecto, pero había salido un sol resplandeciente y el termómetro marcaba 8ºC, la nieve se deshacía por momentos y yo sin poder hacer mis fotos. Pero al fin encontré este sitio junto al río, no es nieve, pero el río está congelado, me parece que las fotos quedaron bien.

I also dedicated some time to take outfit pictures, I wanted to take advantage of the snow in the Pyrenees  and create a funny winter look with many layers. So off I went to find the perfect spot, but it was a very sunny day and the temperature had risen to 8 ºC and all the snow was melting away, all I could find was this place by the river, which actually made a nice place for the photos.

A grey and rainy Christmas

¡Feliz Navidad! Así están siendo mis navidades, hace cuatro días que no veo un rayo de sol. No me quejo, lo estoy pasando muy bien, solo es que hubiese preferido una blanca navidad, y no una navidad gris, de lluvia y niebla...

Merry Christmas! These are a few snapshots of my christmas holidays so far. It's been four days since I last saw a ray of sun, don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying myself. I'm just wishing I could have a white christmas, instead of a grey, damp, foggy one...

Sé que lo que llevo puesto no es muy "normal" y que igual parezco una señora mayor excéntrica, de las que tienen mil gatos en casa y llevan toda su ropa puesta, en miles de capas (yo tenía una tía abuela así...) Igual el chal y la boina juntos son un poco demasiado, y sí me llevé unas cuantas miraditas raras en la calle, pero a mi me encantan estas prendas y me gusta como quedan todas juntas.

I do realize this might be a strange outfit, I might look like a crazy old woman,the type that have many cats and wear all their clothing in layers and layers (I had a great aunt like that...). Maybe wearing this shawl and cooky beret is a bit too much, and yes, I did get some stares from strangers, but I simply love these pieces and I love wearing them all together.

Hoy no me voy a enrollar, me voy en unos minutos a pasar el finde en la nieve (!!!) y tengo que acabar mi maleta. Solo os quería dar las gracias por vuestros comentarios y visitas aquí, me lo estoy pasando muy bien con este blog. Por último una foto de mi riéndome porque me sentía observada mientras hacía las fotos, tanto movimiento con el chal para la foto, ¡normal que la gente al pasar se piense que soy un poco rarita!

Well I have to keep it short today, I am leaving in a few minutes for a ski weekend (!!!) and I have to finish packing. I just wanted to say that I am really thankful for the comments and your visits here, and that blogging is being a really fun experience for me. So just one more photo of me, laughing because I was feeling watched by people walking by while taking pictures and I felt such a fool! Happy weekend everyone!!!!
